NORTHSIDE NATIVES IN TOP FOUR

The Northside Natives Rugby League Club (also known as the Brisbane Natives) are currently sitting in the top four of the Brisbane Second Division, Northside Two competition equal with Pine Central. Other teams in the division include Deception Bay, Banyo, Valleys, Burpengary, Aspley, Arana Hills, Mitchelton, and Kallangur.

Their home ground is Warburton Park, St Joseph’s field at Virginia and the side is coached by Joe Malone and his assistant Mikey Wragge. The team consists of young Aboriginal and Islander men from around the Northside of Brisbane. Currently the Natives only field a team in the senior division but would like to grow and eventually have junior teams as well.

This year the team is celebrating 35 years in the league and have gone back to wearing their old jumpers because of this and the 100 year anniversary of Rugby League.

There are only four games to go before the finals so please come and support the team. During NAIDOC there will be extra entertainment for the family.
