WILLIAMS OFF TO HAWAII TO PLAY GRIDIRON

Jesse Williams will be the first Indigenous Australian to play football in The National Collegiate Athletic Association in the USA, after being spotted by an assistant coach from the University of Hawaii at the National Championships last year.

Williams, who currently plays for the Bayside Ravens in Brisbane, will begin his full scholarship in January 2009. At just 17 he is 6’5 and weighs 148kg.

In the four years he has been playing, Williams has represented Queensland twice and has been selected in two Australian Teams.
